Back where we left our hearts…

by on October 11, 2008

… in San Francisco.

And we are thoroughly underdressed.  It’s COOOOLD.  But it’s so good to be back.

So, being the intrepid travelers that we are, we booked a flight for 8:20 last night.  Christina, however, got off of work at 11 am, so we thought we would try to standby for an earlier flight.  There were flights at 11:15, 2:15, 3:55, and 6:00.  We thought we’d try for 2:15.  Auntie Sheena graciously agreed to drop us off at LAX, and off we went.

We were too late for the 2:15, so we put ourselves on the list for the 3:55, and we were given assurances that we were “more than likely” going to make this flight.  We get up to the gate area and when the boarding time comes along, everyone gets on board and our chances are looking fairly slim. I even called Hannah (our ride from SFO) to tell her that we weren’t going to be home until 7:00.  Then the desk attendant calls out, “Mrs. Wong!” and motions us over.

“I think I can get you on this flight, but you won’t be sitting together.”

Christina: “Yes!  That’s fine!”

Nathan: (Nodding Furiously)

We got on the flight!  Woohoo!

And now we’re home!  Woohoo!

And we slept very soundly:
